Because the visible chassis elements belie the attempts at spindly appearance overall, no two pieces really look like they belong on the same car, no coherent lines exist anywhere, and it’s a fiberglass crack-haze disaster?

There is a difference between mismatched and hideous. Some things need changes, yes, but relatively subtle ones would work.

Sadly my grandpa had a similar car like this for awhile. It was a replica 29 Mecedes Benz Gazelle with a pinto 4cyl. What a complet pile of garbage, what was worse was he traded a nice 57 Chevy Bel Air Convertable for it and some cash.
